Biographical note:

Paula Campos Pinto holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of York (Toronto, Canada) and a Master's in Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA). Associate Professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon, she founded and coordinates the Disability and Human Rights Observatory, a structure that brings together researchers and organizations working in the area of ​​disability, promoting participatory processes for monitoring human rights of people with disabilities. She was also one of the founders and is currently deputy director of CIEG, the interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies at the same institution. She is assistant coordinator of the Sociology Unit at ISCSP-ULisboa and chairs the Coordination Committee of the Interuniversity PhD in OpenSoc Sociology.

She has directed and participated in multiple research projects, nationally and internationally, on topics related to the analysis and evaluation of public policies, disability and gender equality issues.

She is the author of several national and international publications where she has addressed topics such as public policy, human rights, disability issues and gender equality.
