About
This event includes a presentation by the authors on the theme of the book Cidade pós-compacta: estratégias de projeto a partir de Brasília [Post-compact city: design strategies from Brasília] followed by a debate with the audience, moderated by Carlos Fortuna.
The book "Cidade pós-compacta: estratégias de projeto a partir de Brasília" presents the hypothesis that another view at modern urbanism can provide us with clues for dealing with the challenges of the contemporary urban phenomenon. We argue that there is an urgent need for a project that seeks an alternative, on the one hand, to the recipe of making the non-compact compact and, on the other, to the simple inclusion of the condition of non-place, non-city and non-edified in a new expanded epistemology of urbanism.

The research presented in the book is articulated with the themes of the thematic line Urban Cultures, Sociabilities and Participation, as it seeks to understand the contemporary city and collaborate with other forms of urban design that are more sensitive to the current socio-environmental crisis.
