Announcement for Research Grant - MediMARE Project

The University of Coimbra opens a call for the award of a research scholarship, in the framework of the MediMARE project - Mediation in Maritime Disputes, funded through the Directorate General for Sea Policy (DGPM) within the EEAGrants - European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, Azull Growth Programme, in order to carry out R&D activities within the outputs of the Medimare project, in particular:

  • in the development of a taxonomy on maritime disputes;
  • in conducting a survey of users of maritime mediation;
  • the development of curricula on maritime mediation;
  • the preparation of an online course on maritime mediation;
  • preparing an intensive programme on maritime mediation, workshops and dissemination events, as well as an exhibition;
  • the organisation of a publication and articles on maritime mediation.

The work will be developed in the scope of the University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR), leader of the MediMARE project, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Dulce Lopes, coordinator of the project, with a duration of 12 months.

Applications should be formalised by submitting the following documents electronically:

  1. A motivation letter (500 words maximum), indicating to what extent the candidate's profile may contribute to his/her scientific training;
  2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae;
  3. Qualification certificate(s);
  4. Declaration of honour from the candidate indicating the type of scholarship(s) he/she has held and its (their) duration.

The lack of any of the documents required in the application form shall be grounds for exclusion.
