The University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR) welcomes both national and international professors and researchers interested in undertaking research stays under the supervision of professors from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (FDUC), in collaboration with the Faculty's International Relations and Mobility Office (GRI).
Once the research stay is approved, UCILeR provides an office in the Colégio da Trindade building.
How to apply for a research stay
- Reach out to an FDUC professor directly, outlining your research plan and seeking guidance during your stay in Coimbra.
- Fill in, sign, and send the application form to the GRI by e-mail (gri@fd.uc.pt):
- Complete your registration as a visiting researcher by accessing the link that is then sent to you by the Welcome Centre at the University of Coimbra (WCUC) to upload your identification documents.
- Once the WCUC has validated your data, you can then request the services you need (e.g., accommodation, visa, insurance, and travel) from this service. More information here.
- Please notify the UCILeR Office via email (geral@ij.uc.pt) of your expected arrival date in Coimbra, so you can introduce yourself and learn about the work office assigned to you at Colégio da Trindade.
What to do upon arriving in Coimbra to begin your research stay
- Visit the WCUC to get your visiting researcher card and network access credentials.
- Visit the GRI to learn about which areas of the FDUC you have access to during your stay: Library; Journals Room; Institutes Room; Catalogue Room; Reading Room.
