In the first week of February 2020, Pedro Costa (DCT-FCTUC) led a team that carried out a field campaign in the eastern and central groups of the Azores archipelago within the scope of the UCRA project - Use of Calhau Rolado in the Azores - characterization, diagnosis and management.
This project aims to study the changes in coastal sedimentary dynamics caused by the overexploitation of this georesource.
During the next year, several monitoring campaigns are planned in pilot study areas defined in conjunction with SeaExpert.
