PhD Program in Mathematics ‒ Applications Open

Applications are now open for the joint PhD Program in Mathematics offered by the Universities of Coimbra and Porto for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Applicants must hold a master’s degree in a field of Mathematics, a pre-Bologna degree in Mathematics with a duration of at least four years, or a legally equivalent qualification. For degrees obtained abroad, formal recognition may be required.

The first call for applications, offering 5 positions, runs until March 31. The second will take place from June 1 to July 15.

Conditional applications are accepted from students who are expected to complete the required degree before the start of the program.
