On July 22nd, 2025, Filipe Ferreira da Costa successfully defended his PhD thesis in Biosciences – Ecology at the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra.
His thesis, entitled "Human exposure to seafood contaminant mixtures", was supervised by João Pedro Martins Coelho (Department of Biology, University of Aveiro), with co-supervision by Miguel Pardal (DCV-FCTUC) and Bruno Sarmento (i3S, Porto).
The thesis was awarded the distinction of Approved with Honours and Distinction, unanimously, by the examination board, recognising the quality, scientific rigor, and societal relevance of the research.
