A study now published characterizes footprints of giant aurochs, along with others of large prehistoric animals (megafauna) and Neanderthals, in a coastal layer with ca. 110 thousand years. The data indicate the first steps of domestication. The first author is Carlos Neto de Carvalho, whose PhD thesis is co-supervised by Prof. P. Proença Cunha.
