PhD student in Geology at USp wins Fulbright Scholarship for Research with the support of the Regional Government of the Azores

According to the website "Notícias Universidade dos Açores", Rui Mota, PhD student in Geology, Volcanology Specialty at the University of the Azores, and doctoral researcher at IVAR - Institute for Research in Volcanology and Risk Assessment, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for Research with the support of the Regional Government of the Azores, taking place in the next academic year 2023/2024 through a scientific resort in two R&D units of the US Geological Survey (USGS), namely the Cascades Volcano Observatory and the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

This grant will allow you to develop part of your doctoral project, dedicated to the remote detection of volcanic ash clouds, in two of the most prestigious US monitoring and R&D units in this scientific field.
