The exhibition Inside to Outside aims to show the “innards” of trees, the tissues that make up the trunk and branches, and how the tissues are organized in different patterns, depending on the species. In addition to their undeniable aesthetic value, anatomy images reveal their function in the tree.
The exhibition has two components: one physical and one digital.
The physical aspect consists of an exhibition of 15 panels displayed in the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra, which will be available until June 25, 2023. With this exhibition, in addition to learning about each of the 15 tree species and admiring images of their anatomy, the visitor has the opportunity to tour the Coimbra Botanical Garden, getting to know it from a different perspective.
The physical exhibition will continue with the digital exhibition. Through the digital exhibition, it will be possible to discover “from the inside out” a total of 38 species from the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra. The digital component allows interactivity, animations and information visualization that create a different experience for the user, in which they can learn all the information displayed clearly.
