Thousands of people share and give meaning to the same space. Every single day. In the urgency to think the vertigo and the places that each one tries to occupy, emerge clues for new questions, urban and human topographies, multiple areas of knowledge that cross and complement each other, open opportunities, ceilings to be opened and premises to be deconstructed. At the borders between bodies that are strangers or recognize each other, we find, however, the energy that serves movement and joint change.

Vertere, "turn", "move", "change" is the verb that denotes a journey through the universe of the University of Coimbra, based on a set of interviews with students and researchers from different areas. Through their looks, aspirations and expectations, we discover new places and starting points, a vehicle to reflect on gender issues, science and the other.

This film will be presented during the Equality Days.

Target groups: UC community (students from all cycles and researchers).

Objectives: Creation of a film with a public presentation in May 2023 based on work with national and international UC students, which reflects on gender issues, stereotypes and equal opportunities in the different areas of knowledge. Involving the student community and based on the experiences, challenges and desires of the participants themselves, students from different areas and different educational cycles, the film will be the result of an approach to these issues transformed into an object of collaborative creation.

Main Activities: Recruitment of participants within the UC community to form the work teams; exploratory interviews within the student community as a multiple object of reflection, articulation of issues and recruitment of participants for the film; creation, through the artistic practice of filmmaking, of a visual and sound language that is a vehicle for the transmission of ideas and reflections generated during the work process; networking with different structures and bodies of the UC universe; public presentation of the film and promotion of its national and international circulation.
