BioTechStars - Biotech Entrepreneurship Program
BiotechSTARS - Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Program - was held in June, with the aim of promoting an entrepreneurial culture in the biotechnology business sector in the Central region of Portugal, through ideation, training and mentoring initiatives aimed at biotechnology entrepreneurs.
This was a project led by CNC, in partnership with Biocant Park and IATV, with the support of the University of Coimbra, through UC Business, co-financed by Centro 2020, Portugal 2020 and the European Social Fund.
This program, taught by Jean Baronet1, included weekly sessions on how to design, test, validate and communicate an innovative idea. Participants had the opportunity to use tools and methodologies to take the first steps in transforming R&D projects into sustainable business ideas.
1Head of Programs at Territórios Criativos is a specialist in entrepreneurship with over 15 years' experience in this area. He has a degree in International Relations, with a focus on economics and politics. Coordinator, mentor and trainer of entrepreneurship bootcamps, jury for various competitions and young entrepreneurship, speaker and moderator at various entrepreneurship conferences. Mentor, trainer and member of the management support team for the Alvaiázere+ business incubator and Startup Barreiro. Guest lecturer in entrepreneurship at ISG (Instituto Superior de Gestão).
