FRANCE & PORTUGAL - 25 years of collaboration in Mechanical Engineering

"It all started with a great friendship between three PhD students (Luis Filipe Menezes, Sandrine Thuillier and Pierre Yves Manach) and this year we are celebrating 25 years of intense and very fruitful scientific collaboration.", says CEMMPRE researcher Luis Filipe Menezes. "The future counts on the new generations, whose scientific training has already resulted from this collaboration and which continue to create and share scientific knowledge", concludes the researcher.

This fruitful collaboration has continued "with more partners, projects, joint PhD supervisions, and a shared interest in material forming and sheet metal mechanical behavior".

On the 4th and 5th July, in Lorient (France) and online, is taking place the event celebrating the long, fruitful, and excellent collaboration between the universities of Bretagne Sud (France), Coimbra (Portugal) and Aveiro (Portugal), and 3 research units (IRDL, CEMMPRE and TEMA). On the subject "Future trends in virtual sheet metal forming", this event will have "a short history of 25 years of collaboration", "scientific talks related to plasticity model calibration with Artificial Intelligence, hot forming, challenges in virtual sheet metal forming, a dedicated numerical tool for virtual forming, hydraulic bulging for material characterization and virtual additive manufacturing", "MyPhD180" by PhD students, "a panel discussion with doctors, who did their PhD work under a joint supervision between France and Portugal, will share their experience", as well as a planetary session in honour of Professor Frédéric Barlat ( "sandrine thuillier" | Pesquisar | LinkedIn).
