MCM'24


The 9th International Congress on Mathematics and Computation in Music (MCM'24) promotes the interdisciplinary exploration and debate on theoretical, cognitive, performative, and pedagogical aspects of music-mathematical thinking and computational practices. Currently in its 9th edition, MCM 2024 is organized by the CEIS20 and the CISUC, in partnership with the SMCM and FLUC.

CEIS20 - Fora de Portas


CEIS20 Fora de Portas is an outreach program of CEIS20 aimed at schools and both formal and non-formal educational contexts. Aligned with the Center's four interdisciplinary axes, CEIS20 Fora de Portas aims to commit our R&D Unit to the promotion and democratization of knowledge, closer engagement with surrounding communities, quality education, gender equality, and the reduction of disparities, in the construction of a more just, inclusive, and reflective society.

Young Researchers Meeting

Cultural Heritage


The 2022 CEIS20 Summer School Cultural Heritage: from Cultural Legacies to Intercultural Encounters aimed to foster critical and creative dialogues within the framework of four overarching topics encompassing material, immaterial, and natural heritages: languages, images, sounds, and spaces. The summer school enable participants to deepen their theoretical and methodological knowledge through interdisciplinary dialogues.

On Textbooks– National and Global Historical Perspectives are vehicles that disseminate officially approved discourses and images, while simultaneously reflecting social controversies surrounding sensitive issues, connecting with a broader social context.
