On Uncertainty as a Principle: Journalism, Democracy, Decadence and the Decay of Truth

“On Uncertainty as a Principle: Journalism, Democracy and the Decay of Truth” is the title of the latest book by João Figueira, integrated researcher at CEIS20 (Group 6 – Communication, Journalism and Public Space).

The book will be presented on 19 October at 17:30, at the Liquidâmbar (Praça da República) in Coimbra. The event will be attended by FLUC deputy director and CEIS20 researcher (Group 6 – Communication, Journalism and Public Space), Ana Teresa Peixinho, and journalists Miguel Carvalho and Pedro Crisóstomo, who will comment on the new book.

“The book discusses journalistic practices within an increasingly complex socio-political and economic framework, revisiting seemingly stable concepts such as impartiality and truth, and suggesting that they be debated and questioned from new perspectives”.

The book, published by LabCom, was supported by CEIS20.
