The result of years of research into the aesthetic and economic history of Portuguese cinema, André Rui Graça’s book is one of the first English-language works on the subjects.
In an interview with Cinema Sétima Arte, the researcher said that he believes that “we need to study Portuguese cinema and promote it more” and that “there is still a lack of books on Portuguese cinema in English. If there aren’t any at all, we will never be able to contribute effectively to the promotion of Portuguese cinema.”
The publication, which is supported by CEIS20, will be officially released on 21 May 2021 and is already available for pre-order.
