The call for papers for the Lusófona Journal of Education is open until 31 January 2023. Among the guest editors is the researcher Álvaro Nieto Ratero.

Educational periodicals have changed the way we communicate with the outside world, with the world beyond education. While they have become a platform for the concerns of their protagonists, those who teach, those who live the teaching-learning process, they have also served to introduce younger children to the world of reading and writing.

But while the media may change, what will not change is the main function of educational periodicals, which is to bring society closer to the reality of education in a particular historical period.

We welcome theoretical and empirical articles as well as comparative studies. Interviews and reviews of recently published books on the subject will also be accepted.

Thematic axes: the children's press; the press for university students; the press for primary and secondary school teachers; the press for university professors; the press for religious congregations; the press for educational administrators; the educational press in the dictatorships of the 20th century; the press of teachers’ associations and union movements linked to education; concrete experiences with the educational press in the classroom; educational press for didactic purposes; the educational press on paper versus digital; the educational press in different contexts; educational sections in the press in general.
