In recent years, widespread access to smartphones has led to significant changes in user behaviour, which can be categorised as additional or excessive use. This article by CEIS20 researcher José Pedro Cerdeira a presents some studies on a Portuguese version of the smartphone engagement scale by Walsh et al. (2010) and explores the relationship between this parameter and the time spent using this communication technology.
