II Interdisciplinarity Colloquium

Over the course of 25 years, the prescient design of interdisciplinarity (ID) that drove the founding of CEIS20 has been exploring multiple forms of disciplinary interconnection, through projects, activities and research groups. After a successful 1st edition of the Interdisciplinarity Colloquium in November 2023, in which researchers and doctoral students debated their interdisciplinary work (and celebrated the long journey of ID in a reflective session with the Scientific Coordinators since the Center's foundation), we intend to continue this momentum with a 2nd edition of the Colloquium, in order to strengthen links and synergies of thought and action between researchers, projects and groups.

As part of the ongoing FCT Evaluation of Research Units, the forward-looking Activity Plan (2025-2029) aims to reinforce our commitment to DI by developing five thematic lines, called Contemporary Global Challenges (CGD) and aligned with emerging agendas. These thematic lines have a cross-disciplinary nature and aim to bring together and cross-reference different projects, publications, seminars, conferences, knowledge transfer, international networks, among others.
