Every September, the President of the European Commission delivers a State of the Union address to the European Parliament, taking stock of the achievements of the previous year and outlining the priorities for the year ahead. On 13 September at 08:00 (WET), the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will deliver the State of the Union (SOTEU) address, followed by a plenary debate with Members of the European Parliament.

CEIS20 integrated researchers Álvaro Garrido (current Director of FEUC, member of Group 1– History, Memory and Public Policies), and Dina Sebastião (member of the Scientific Coordination of CEIS20, Director of the Doctorate in Contemporary Studies and member of Group 2 – Europeanism, Atlanticity and Globalisation) will comment on the State of the European Union speech at a round table on the same day, starting at 10:00 in the Keynes Room, FEUC. This is an initiative of the Europe Direct Centre Coimbra and Leiria Region, as part of its activities to transfer knowledge to the community.
