Opening Session of the Doctoral Programme in Contemporary Studies

The Centre for 20th Century Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Coimbra is starting another edition of its Doctoral Programme in Contemporary Studies.

Programme of the inaugural session:

14:30 | OPENING CONFERENCE

The historian Helder Adegar Fonseca will open the conference with a talk on “Decolonisations: historiographical sessions”. A lecturer at the University of Évora, he has sought to open up new perspectives in the understanding of decolonisation processes and post-colonial situations.

16:00 | PRESENTATION OF THE CARLOS CORDEIRO PRIZE

The prize is awarded to the best doctoral thesis in the field of Contemporary Studies.

16:30 | PRESENTATION OF ISSUE 19 OF THE JOURNAL “ESTUDOS DO SÉCULO XX”

Pedro Fonseca, researcher at CEIS20, will present the latest volume of the journal.
