Maria Secades Fonseca

María Secades-Fonseca is a PhD student at the University of Oviedo where she is researching on "Age and vulnerability in Plato's work" thanks to a grant from the Research and Teaching Program of the Severo Ochoa Institute, Principado de Asturias, and under the monitoring of Dr. Rosa María Cid López.

At present, she is a member of the research group "Demeter. Maternity, gender and family" of the University of Oviedo and is participating in the research project funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO): "Intrafamilial Vulnerability and Politics in the Ancient World" (VIPMA) [PID2020-116349GB-100/AEI/10.13039/501100011033].

Secades-Fonseca has been a visiting researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies of the University of Coimbra, where she developed her research under the mentorship of Dr. Delfim Ferreira Leão, from April 14 to July 14.

Her main topics of interest are Plato's philosophy, Greek literature, old age in Antiquity and the concept of vulnerability.
