Associate Professor of Classical Studies at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra.

She obtained her PhD in Novilatin Literature in 2002, under the supervision of Américo da Costa Ramalho, during which she carried out research into the historical sources of the Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu (Rome), as a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship holder.

Her research and teaching focus on Latin, Classical Culture and Neo-Latin Studies, with a special emphasis on Renaissance Humanism and the written sources of the Society of Jesus from the 16th and 17th centuries. Her research interests cover the neo-Latin sources of Renaissance humanism and its cultural, literary, artistic-dramatic and philosophical production, as well as the history of education in the Colleges of the Society of Jesus.

She is currently vice-coordinator of CECH-UC and co-coordinator of an inter-university project dedicated to editing and translating the Aristotelian Course of the Conimbricense Jesuits.
