(Re)Writing the Myth

In Antiquity, poets, painters and sculptors were familiar with ancient myths of gods and humans. They crystallized experiences, questions, answers regarding the existence of mankind in time and in the world, they were also inspired in myths, by a continuous process of creation-(re-)creation, to pour into them their own temporal experience, with all the unrests and restlessness, with all the astonishment, horror or enchantment produced by the exceptionality of human action, which tears or illuminates the frontiers of finitude. These paths of creation deserve, today, the attention and analysis of Literary Studies and, of course, of Classical Studies in particular. This series therefore welcomes studies of this nature that stand out for their scientific quality and originality, and that are mainly dedicated to Portuguese-speaking authors.
