An introduction to the rules of palaeographic transcription for publishing unpublished manuscripts.
A deeper understanding of the practice of reading and transcribing manuscript documents (1400 to 1800).
Abbreviations and auxiliary writing signs.

Objectives: To deepen practical knowledge of reading and transcribing Latin and Portuguese manuscript documents from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

For: Students, researchers, librarians, archivists, museologists, anyone with an interest in the sources of history and culture.

Coordinator: Saul António Gomes


The course will run with at least 10 enrolments.


Certificate

Attendance at the 40-hour course will be attested by a certificate issued by the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies.


Location

Sala Dom João III, AUC.

The sessions that will take place in the Sala de São Pedro, BGUC, and at FLUC (room to be announced) are duly noted in the programme.
