(The Scientific Coordinator is elected by the Scientific Board; the Vice-Scientific Coordinators are chosen by the Scientific Coordinator.)

• general governance of the unit;
• implementation of the unit's general strategies;
• supervision of General Project activities;
• coordination and supervision of activities in the fields of training, partnerships, and transfer and applied knowledge;
• coordination and supervision of administrative and technical support services to research (human, financial, image, and communication resources);
• submission of reports (of activities and accounts) to the FCT;
• legal and institutional representation of the unit.
