BGUC has in its very rich resources a magnificent collection of Miscellanies consisting of around 10,000 chapbooks.

The original owner of the oldest part of this set was probably the Rev. José Pedro Hasse de Belém, a high-ranking dignitary from the Lisbon church, whose precious library of manuscripts and printed works was purchased by BGUC. Numerous volumes from other sources were added to this initial core, thus increasing the set of funeral orations, academic eulogies, sermons, and panegyrics, amongst other genres.

This historic collection is not complete and it continues to grow with new acquisitions, such as the 240 volumes of Theatre Miscellanies acquired in 1989.
